Bus duct, full name busbar trunking system, also known as enclosed busbar, is a factory prefabricated modular complete low-voltage power distribution equipment. It is assembled with metal enclosures, insulating supports and copper/aluminum busbars. Instead of multiple parallel cables, it undertakes high-current main power transmission and electric power distribution from transformers and power distribution cabinets to floors, workshops and machine rooms, known as the power aorta of power distribution systems.
2. Core Structure
1. Conductive Busbar
The core current-carrying component, divided into copper busbar and aluminum busbar, tinned or silver-plated on the surface to reduce contact resistance. Its rated current ranges from 400A to 6300A. The flat structure achieves much better heat dissipation than round cables.
2. Insulating Layer
Made of mica, polyester film, epoxy resin and other materials, it insulates conductors between phases and separates conductors from the enclosure to prevent short circuits and electric leakage.
3. Metal Enclosure
Made of galvanized steel plate, aluminum alloy or stainless steel. It provides mechanical protection, heat dissipation and grounding shielding, and determines the IP dustproof and waterproof grade.
4. Standard Supporting Accessories
Straight sections, connectors, inlet tap-off boxes, plug-in distribution boxes, elbows, tees, expansion joints, end caps and brackets. Power tapping can be realized at any position along the trunk without rewiring.

Main Types & Application Scenarios
(1)Compact Bus Duct (Mainstream Product)
Insulated busbars are closely stacked with nearly no air gaps. It features compact size, fast heat dissipation, low impedance, IP54~IP65 protection grade and strong short-circuit withstand capacity.
Application: Super high-rise office buildings, shopping malls, data centers, large factories, residential electrical shafts.
(2) Air-insulated Bus Duct
Insulated by air gaps, simple structure and low cost, yet larger dimension under the same current with average protection grade.
Application: Medium and small factories, hotels, long-distance main power distribution in hospitals.
(3) Cast Resin Bus Duct
Busbars are fully encapsulated by epoxy resin, with maximum IP68 waterproof, anti-corrosion and explosion-proof performance.
Application: Chemical plants, underground comprehensive pipe galleries, humid coastal areas, underwater power supply, sewage treatment plants.
(4) Fire-resistant / Flame-retardant Bus Duct
Its insulation and enclosure adopt fireproof and fire-resistant materials, which can maintain power supply for 60~180 minutes under 950℃ flame.
Application: Fire emergency circuits of buildings, metro tunnels, underground parking lots, standby power supply for machine rooms.
(5) Lighting Bus Duct
Light-duty low-current bus duct with multiple plug-in ports for flexible addition and removal of lamps.
Application: Exhibition centers, airports, workshop lighting trunk lines.
