1. Product Overview
Fire resistant cable tray is a cable support structure made of cold-rolled steel plate coated with high-temperature fire retardant coating, complete with matching fireproof covers, dividers and elbows. In case of fire, the coating will foam and carbonize rapidly to form a dense heat insulation layer, blocking high temperature and open flame. It delays the softening and collapse of the tray, protecting internal cables to maintain power supply within specified fire resistance duration. It is specially used for fire power distribution, high-rise buildings and underground pipe galleries.
2. Main Structural Types
1. Fire Resistant Solid Bottom Cable Trough
Fully enclosed with cover, best performance in fire insulation, smoke isolation and anti-interference. For fire emergency power supply and weak control cables.
2. Fire Resistant Perforated Cable Tray
Perforated base balances heat dissipation and fire resistance, ideal for mass power cables in workshops.
3. Fire Resistant Ladder Cable Tray
Hollow rung design, lightweight and well ventilated, suitable for long-distance laying of large-section high-voltage cables.
4. Fire Resistant Long Span Cable Tray
Thickened steel with reinforcing ribs, long single span, applied to large factories without ceiling and utility tunnels.
3. Core Technical Features
1. Double-layer fireproof coating
Steel base undergoes rust removal and phosphating treatment first, then coated with primer and fire retardant topcoat. The coating expands under fire for heat insulation; fire resistance rating optional: 0.5h / 1h / 1.5h / 2h.
2. High-strength metal framework
Steel substrate features strong compression and impact resistance. The fire coating wraps steel at high temperature to slow deformation and collapse.
3. Full set of fireproof accessories
Elbows, tees, reducers, splice plates, dividers and covers are all coated with fire retardant paint, ensuring consistent fire resistance along the whole wiring route.
4. Insulation, moisture and dust resistance
The coating has integrated insulation, moisture-proof and anti-rust properties, suitable for basements and humid workshops without extra galvanizing treatment.
4. Standard Specifications
Size (Width × Height mm): 100×50, 200×100, 300×100, 400×150, 600×200, 800×200
Wall thickness: 1.0–2.5mm, custom size and fire resistance duration available.
5. Product Advantages
1. Fire retardant performance ensures continuous power supply for fire circuits and meets fire inspection standards.
2. Integrated fire coating prevents rust and moisture, applicable to underground, humid and dusty environments.
3. High structural strength, resistant to heavy impact and extrusion during embedding.
4. Complete modular accessories for easy horizontal, vertical and turning installation.
5. Low toxic smoke emission during fire, reducing hazards for evacuation and rescue.
6. Application Range
High-rise residential buildings, commercial complexes, office buildings, hospitals, schools, underground parking lots, municipal utility tunnels, power plants, chemical workshops, civil air defense projects and dedicated fire power circuits.

FAQS
-
How to choose among solid tray, ladder tray and perforated tray?
Choose solid tray for weak current, computer rooms, dusty/humid sites and anti-interference demands; ladder tray for thick cables, high-power power circuits and workshops prioritizing heat dissipation; perforated tray for general workshops, mixed strong/weak current laying and cost control.
-
Which surface treatment for indoor and outdoor use respectively?
Electro-galvanized / fire retardant coated for dry indoor; hot-dip galvanized for outdoor & damp underground; 304 stainless steel or FRP for coastal and corrosive chemical environments.
-
What is the difference between national standard and non-standard cable trays?
National standard products strictly comply with standards on wall thickness, dimension and load capacity, passing acceptance of government, real estate and large bidding projects. Non-standard ones adopt thinner plates or customized sizes at lower prices, only suitable for small renovation without formal bidding requirements.
-
How much space should be reserved for cables inside the tray?
According to industry codes, total cross-sectional area of cables shall not exceed 40% of the tray’s inner section to reserve space for heat dissipation and future cable expansion, avoiding overheating and short circuit.
-
Cable trays are easy to deform during transportation, how do you guarantee product integrity?
Products are reinforced before shipment. Long trays are cut into segments and fixed with wooden frames for bulk orders. Free replacement of accessories or negotiated return & exchange for deformed goods received.
